Crop of the Stocks

Wannabe city traders and fund managers can test their stock picking skills this summer and win £1000 to invest in shares by taking part in an online competition launched by the stockbroking firm Redmayne-Bentley.

It is a free competition for both novice and seasoned investors to test stock picking skills over the summer months. Georgina Mitchell at Redmayne-Bentley's says "Volatility in the stock market is expected this summer despite traditionally being quiet period. When rallies come they will be sharp and swift and so it could prove to be a challenging time for stock pickers."

Entries can be made by visiting www.redmayne.co.uk/crop/shareworld where participants will need to submit their details and simply pick ten FTSE 100 stocks that they believe will be the best performers between 2nd August and 10th September 2010. Entrants can log on at anytime to monitor how their stocks are progressing; get latest prices and news and most importantly track their performance alongside other entrants.

There will be weekly updates for entrants throughout the competition.
