I have some private shares in this company. Last October they stated on their website that they were
being taken over by Blackstone Venture Capital with an IPO in the near future which would result in a substantial profit. Subsequently the GOE website disappeared and blackstonevc.com appeared complete with various spelling mistakes, in an unfinished state with an anticipated operational date of January 2010. To date nothing has happened and Emails have not met with any response. Is this another scam? If so, they seem to have gone to a lot of trouble after they had my money with reports of various board meetings etc prior to the takeover.

These shares were acquired on May 12th 2009 in exchange for other shares which were proving to be worthless I was given a username (horizons) and password(quantum456) for the projects section. As you will see, much has happened or purported to have happened between then and the takeover. If it`s a scam
I cannot understand the objective as the transfer had already been made some months before..

I couldn't log in.
I am interested (a bit) in why /how you bought Gulf Oil ( a private company)and how the exchange into Blackstone was made. Are these shares restricted? Usually when one company takes over a struggling company the existing shareholders get nothing. Why should they? The assets, if any, are usually 'nicked' legally through a fire sale.

I was holding shares in Tycon Energy which were rapidly devaluing and was offered a deal which involved "selling" some of these shares in exchange for GOE shares. I thought "what the hell" I am on a loser anyway so I agreed. Incidentally, the remaining
Tycon shares have now become by buyout "Next Alternative" shares and, wonder of wonders, this company has actually published accounts. I`m holding my breath on this one as they actually appear to exist and be trading!!. Back to GOE, the share certificate does not show any restriction and the report on the takeover states that no action will be required for the transfer to Blackstone VC. It`s unfortunate you are not able to log in as the projects section makes interesting reading either as a work of fiction or fact (I`m still undecided)

Unfortunately this is all just bits of paper (probably expensive paper). Lets get back to fundamentals. How much money have these companies got? How much are they spending on research and development. What is the product.? Where are they in the chain of the product? Did they invent it? Do they manufacture it? Do they licence it? At what stage is the product?
I was involved in the pre-IPO of Ultramotor. the inventors of the pancake motor http://www.shelleys.demon.co.uk/apr03mot.htm
I am not sure where they are at currently-I am still researching.
Toyota is developing/making hybrid cars. Do you know how much money thaye are throwing at that?
Furthermore all these companies you refer to are PRIVATE COMPANIES. They are not listed. They have entries in OTC 'markets', they may say they are seeking full or higher listings but at the moment they are still private companies. They have issued, or sold shares to private investors so how much are these shares worth? How much is the company worth. Well, we have no way of telling, have we? Until we do they are worth..zero.
I suggest you either tear them up or frame them to remind you of the sill mistakes you have made. If you want to invest follow the old adage (see it, feel it, touch it). That means visit the company, get a balance sheet & P&L and try to understand what the company is worth. And if you can easily sell the shares that you buy.
