Shareworld Book reviews

For quite some time we have had an affiliate agreement with Amazon.co.uk - namely taking a commission for the sale of books via the Shareworld website.

We originally had an arrangement whereby we would receive between 4-5% of the revenue from the sale of books on Shareworld (mostly in the "review" Section of our site). In the last 3 months, we noticed Amazon had stopped paying any commission for the sales we were making - After discussing this with Amazon, we had a "paid-search" account which prevented us from receiving commission from book sales (this rule had taken effect in October), however we do not partake in paid-for search activities and therefore we think this adjustment to our account was an error on Amazons part.

Despite our best efforts to sort this out with Amazon, we did not get a resolution after several weeks of stuttering communications; because of this lack of communication we have made the decision to close our amazon account.

Unfortunately this means we will no longer be able to offer direct-buy links to Amazon for the books we have reviewed on Shareworld - we apologize to our visitors for this, and will be looking for a supplier to replace the direct-buy links in the near future.

At the risk of stepping into playground territory we would also like to point out Amazon's slogan - attached to their email communications:

"We're Building Earth's Most Customer-Centric Company"

In light of the fact that while trying to rectify our issue, we had to contact Amazon via the default contact form on their website at each stage of our enquiry AND that we were replyed to by a different person every time (Even though it was a singular, on-going issue) AND that we hadn't received any reply for the last 24 days (despite being told it would be dealt with within 7 days)... We dont really feel this slogan is appropriate!
