Banks, BP better.
Shares made modest gains as banks firmed after Friday's stress test results. Following Wall Street's 102 point gain at Friday's close the FTSE is marginally positive. This Friday US GDP data is eagerly awaited after the leap in 2nd quarter UK economic growth.UK banks are almost 2% higher and BP are up around 9p/. Talk that Tony Hayward will be replaced as CEO by an American. BP's quarterly results are due tomorrow and they are expected to be strong.
