First Potash permit issued by North Dakota in decades
The State Department of Mineral Resources recently issued the permit to Denver miners Dakota Salts LLC in Burke County. Dakota Salts is a subsidiary of London AIM quoted company Sirius Exploration PLC (SXX.L). Sirius has mining interests in Australia, China and Macedonia. Potash, a chemical used in fertilisers has been in the news lately following the hostile bid by BHP Billiton for Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc.(POT.NYSE). BHP are bidding some $38.6 billion for the Canadian fertilizer producer. The offer has been rejected as 'totally inadequate'
