Question
Hi I have £10,000 to invest in shares, for the past 10 years i have always wanted to buy shares but never got around to it, i have no experience in the whole process of buying shares. Can anybody give me any tips etc, or would it be better to invest in property? Mark - Posted by Mark O'Shea

Hi Mark
I can't give you any tips as to particular shares but share investment is not something to be entered into lightly. If you take the FTSE100 as an example over the last five years you will see shares in general have not made much progress. All this goes to prove is that to be successful you need to be selective (and have some knowledge or expert advice). Of course if you had been lucky enough to start investing in early 2009 you may easily have doubled your money (just by sticking a pin into the FTSE100 constituents). There is no doubt investing in UK property has great merits over a reasonable timescale, due to the continual over demand and limited supply. You need a bit more than £10000, obviously.
My advice for the moment would be to learn about the different aspects of investment and read, read, read.

Hi Mark,
If you want to invest this money and get a serious return. Invest in Venezualan and/or Brazilian fuel markets.
It's the only market sure to rise significantly in the 2-5 years.
