Question

Can I buy shares from a private limited company - Posted by Nicky Giles

Answer

ANSWER 18th February 2010
Hi Nicky,
In theory yes. But you would have to know the company and know that there were shares available. Then you would have a problem if you ever wanted to sell. So, I expect, in practice the answer is no. You get shares in USA (and probably elsewhere) that are OTC (Over the counter). These are basically private companies. But I wouldn't advise going there!
