Hi Liam,

Well there should be some value somewhere, although not as Amstrad. It will also depend on the date on the certificate. In 1997 Amstrad PLC was delisted and shareholders received Loan notes, shares in Viglen and shares in Betacom. In November 1997 Betacom changed its name to Amstrad PLC. You need to establish which Amstrad you have!

Now, in 2007, this new Amstrad was taken over by BSkyB for cash.

So you should be entitled to something. Presumably you have moved address and not informed the Company's Registrar? Somewhere there should be a Dissenter's Shareholder list with your name on it.

Try 'phoning Equiniti on 0871 384 2091 and ask for the Registrar for BSkyB and then give them the details of your share certificate. They should point you in the right direction. If not, email me on our contacts page.
