Hi Clement,

As for previous answers, Abbey National was taken over by Banco Santander and your holding should now be in Santander shares as CDI (Crest Depository Instrument). That is the shares are held by Santander (or their Registrars).

The Registrars, who are Equiniti, have a share dealing service so you should be able to sell your shares through them although there may be a problem if you are overseas resident.

The Registrars will only divulge information to the shareholder although it should not be difficult to find a way for your brother to communicate with them.

Their telephone number is 0871 384 2000
