Hi Sharedigger,
I suppose it would be online but I am afraid I do not know the exact costs. With a traditional broker it can be expensive as you will more than likely be paying two commissions. One in London and the other in US (which may be charged in the price, i.e. a net price). Then you will have extra cost of exchanging your GBP for USD. Also you may have a problem with the time difference. Most UK brokers finish at 16.30 whereas US goes on to 21.00.
